One year on: real support from real nurses and midwives
Our work and its impact was recently the subject of a feature article titled One year on: Real support from real nurses and midwives in The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Journal.
The article looks back on our first year of service delivery and shines a light on the importance of peer-led support. It captures what we see every day – real connection, real care, and real outcomes when we support each other as a profession.
It describes why peer support matters, especially when it comes from nurses and midwives with experience working in the job. It also points out that wellbeing isn’t an optional extra – it’s essential for delivering safe, quality care. Community and connection come through strongly, with the article showing how powerful it can be when people feel heard, validated and understood.
Looking ahead – growing our impact
As we celebrate our 1-year milestone, we’re also really pleased to share that Lori-Anne Sharp has recently been appointed as our Chief Executive Officer. Lori-Anne brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our profession across Australia. With her guidance, we’re looking forward to building on the strong foundations of our first year and growing the program’s impact even further.
