Celebrating NAIDOC Week 7-14 July 2024
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to applaud the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses, midwives, and students. Their dedication, expertise, and cultural knowledge are invaluable assets to the healthcare system. We are guided and inspired by their leadership, stories of resilience and connection to country.
The 2024 theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud, and Proud calls on us all to honour First Nations communities' heritage, strength and vitality.
We recognise the importance of the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our shared history and health sector.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and culturally safe environment for all nurses, midwives and students. Nurse Midwife HPA recognises the cultural load that may be experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses, midwives, and students.
